Ards Historical Society was founded in 1967
To promote an interest in the history, people and places of the Ards, North Down and other areas of Northern Ireland, together with it's folklore, customs, place names and dialects. We also facilitate  study groups, unearth and document relevant historical information and encourage the preservation of artifacts.

We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from September to March in the Londonderry room of the Ards Art Centre in Conway Square, Newtownards when an invited speaker will give a talk in their area of expertise.
Workshop meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday during the months of September, October, November, January and February.
